What 204 live Black Friday Meta ads look like in October 2026
Short answer: on October 12 and 14, 2026, I pulled two samples of live US Meta ads containing the exact phrase "black friday" from Meta's Ad Library. Sorted by total impressions, 56 of 88 ads had started in an earlier Black Friday season and were still running. Sorted by newest, 113 of 116 ads had started the previous day: the 2026 wave is launching now.
Method
Source: Meta Ad Library, country United States, active ads only, exact phrase "black friday", all ad types.
Sample A, October 12, 2026: default sort (total impressions). 88 ads parsed from 62 advertisers.
Sample B, October 15, 2026 (Beijing time; October 14 in the US): sort by newest. 116 ads parsed from 42 advertisers.
The two samples use different sorts and are reported separately. Ad Library shows start date, platforms and ad text; it does not show spend or results.
Sample B is concentrated: one advertiser accounts for 42 of 116 ads, so its copy figures are counted per advertiser.

Sample A: last year's Black Friday ads are still running
56 of 88 ads started in November or December of 2024 or 2025 and still say Black Friday.
40 of 88 state a discount; the median top discount is 40%, the highest 90%.
23 of 88 use urgency words (last chance, ends, final, today only, limited, hurry); 7 say "early".
Sample B: the 2026 wave started this week
113 of 116 ads started on October 14, 2026; 1 on October 13; 2 in September.
Per advertiser (42): 19 (45%) use urgency words; 9 (21%) say "early"; 12 state a percentage off, median top discount 50% (range 15% to 80%); 4 mention free shipping.
What this means for a small store
Check your account for last year's Black Friday ads before launching new ones. An ad that says "today only" and has been running for eleven months is a promise the page no longer keeps.
If you plan to launch, the timing in when to start Black Friday ads still holds: new ad sets by about November 10 so learning ends before the week itself.
